Bio

Taylor and his wife, Liz, have been residents of the City of Sugar Hill for more than 13 years and a Georgia resident for 17 years. Their two children, Nicklaus and Lauren, have called Sugar Hill their home for their entire lives. Taylor is a graduate of Purdue University (West Lafayette, Indiana) and holds a degree in Civil Engineering. Taylor became a licensed Professional Engineer in Georgia in 2003. He also is a licensed PE in Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina. 

After working for consulting firms for 10 years, he started Blue Landworks, a civil engineering and land surveying firm, in 2008. Blue Landworks is an award winning firm and has come to be known for providing clients with excellent service with an impeccable reputation. Blue Landworks grew from a fledgling consulting firm in the depths of the great recession to the full-service consulting firm that it is today.

Taylor began serving on the Sugar Hill Downtown Development Authority (DDA) in 2012. In 2014, Taylor became Chairman of the DDA and embarked on the goal of seeing development come to downtown. His dedicated efforts in developing downtown saw him receive the city's first ever Volunteer of the Year award in 2015. He continues to serve as Chairman of the DDA, working every day to bring high-quality development and championing Sugar Hill's growing downtown. In addition to serving the City of Sugar Hill, Taylor serves as Partnership Gwinnett's Goal 3 Chair. Goal 3 of Partnership Gwinnett is focused on community development. His service to his community earned him the 2015 Influence Award from Partnership Gwinnett. Taylor is also a graduate of Leadership Gwinnett.

In addition to spending his free time with family and friends, Taylor enjoys Captaining his ALTA tennis team, reading, hiking with his family and playing with the family's two dogs - Scout, a Havanese, and Captain, a golden retriever.
